What happened to last week and this weekend? It just blew by didn't it. I'd look at the clock and what I thought had been a half hour that just passed actually turned out to be two hours. I blinked and Thursday turned in Sunday.
Thank you to everyone who left wonderful comments here, contacted me through Etsy and posted my dolls on their websites this week. Thanks to many people for making my shop update such a success last week and all of this month!:)
I'm sending off the last of my packages Monday and have started to work on more dolls this weekend. All of the lady bird dolls sold out and I've had requests for more, so expect to see some at the next update (check back as I will be announcing the next update sometime this week). I've also had requests/suggestions for different ethnicities which I had been considering lately; they too will be included in my next batch of dolls :)
I've been thinking a lot about birds as of late. When I get some time, I'd like to pull out my Winged Migration movie from the top of my closet and watch it again. If you haven't seen Winged Migration may I suggest it the next time you're in the video store wondering what's worth renting. I saw the movie three or four times in the theater when it came out in 2003. I had seen the trailer for the movie and was quite impressed. To be honest ,had someone recommended I go see a two hour film about birds migrating all over the world, I probably would've passed on it. But it's a gorgeous film and afterwards you'll have a greater appreciation of the beauty of other creatures in this world and the challenges they face. It has a beautiful and rather moving soundtrack as well. Jacques Perrin directed the film~ he's the actor who played the adult Salvatore in Cinema Paradiso..another great film...but that'll have to wait for another post :)
Nick Cave's gorgeous song To be by your side is featured in the movie..here's another clip I can't help but include..
