Well, the packages are all sent off and the birthday party was a blast, so you probably think I'm taking a break, right? No! I am working on a couple of doll ornaments which I will have in my shop on Sunday the 14th at 5pm Pacific time, 8pm Eastern. I wish I could make more but I have some gifts to get started and sent off. But hopefully some of you who weren't able to get a doll ornaments on Friday will have a chance this time. (I'll have pictures up by Saturday or early Sunday) . The lady birds will not be included, but I have plans for a few slightly different versions of them to appear around Valentines :)

After next week I will be taking at least a month break. Actually, all that means is that I wont be having a "formal update". Believe me, I will be doing anything but lounging (that sounds tempting though). And when I'm not cleaning this house and studio from top to bottom, I will be working on some doll related projects; I am participating in an auction piece involving an "alter piece" (more on that later) and I will be planning my next giveaway as part of the "One World, One Heart Event". 

For those who aren't familiar with this Blog event, participants from all over the world hold a "giveaway" on their site on February 12th. This year, the founder Lisa Oceandreamer is starting the  event early, in late January, so that people have a time to visit all of the sites instead of attempting to do it all in one weekend. Last year  250+ blogs participated and I'm sure there will be more this year. It's a great way to discover new blogs and have a chance at winning a piece of art, jewelry, etc. (I won three things last year!). Sneak Peeks-~Part 2~ Doll Ornaments

Just a quick  and sincere thank you for all of your orders today! I will be shipping the ornaments off by Monday.   I'm receiving emails about the shopping cart problem at Etsy again and the best thing I can recommend is to contact Etsy directly ([email protected]) and hopefully they'll fix this dilemma. And I am considering starting a line of smaller dolls for those who asked. My very first dolls were under 9" and so I may revisit that size again. Ok..off to get some work done and prepare for my son's birthday party this weekend :)

Here are the doll ornaments that will be part of today's shop update! Each doll is approx. 8.5-9"(not including the 2.5" ribbon),  just a few inches smaller than my normal size dolls. I chose to make these a little larger than last years ornaments ,and without as much glitter and sparkle (I saved that for the lady bird ornaments). I wanted to create ornaments that best reflect how my dolls look like at this particular time in my doll making.
 

These were created specifically so that they could be displayed on the Christmas tree and/or hanging on a wall.. and the "Joyeux Noel" Midori ribbon is removable should you choose to display this doll year round. These dolls are made just like my larger dolls~the legs and arms are movable and they can sit on a shelf as well.
There will be a limited edition of twelve available. All orders will be shipped out at the beginning of next week :)

Sneak Peeks ~ Lady Bird Ornaments

Well here are the lady bird ornaments! They measure approx 3" high by 3.5" from nose to tail and are painted in a champagne pearlescent paint. The underbelly is painted in a butter cream color and coated with ultra fine crystal glitter. Their faces are coated with a glossy finish which makes them some what difficult to photograph but I think they look quite beautiful, especially in the evening light. And each ornament is adorned with a sterling silver crown hand made by Beth Quinn of Beth Quinn Designs(she a very talented jewelry designer and mixed media artist~Thanks Beth!). This is a limited edition of ten.

You'll have to forgive me for not having the images of the doll ornaments ready. My computer is quite slow today (I think I'm running low on memory) so I'll be making a pot of coffee for myself and working into the wee hours. They will be ready by morning before the 10 am update.
