Studio and works in progress Jan 2010
Greetings and Happy 2010! We had a great Christmas and a very productive holiday break~the new floors are all in (but one) and the house looks so much better. A trip to Portland for a few days and snowboarding here in Bend(for Mark and Andres) prevented the break from being just all about work.
I'm back in the studio creating dolls. I made some resolutions regarding my dolls and blog, one being not to be too concerned about the amount of dolls made and posts I'm able to write. Everyone keeps reminding me that in a year or two when my son is in kindergarten I will have more time and while that may or may not be true I'm going to continue to create my best art when I can. Last year I wanted to focus on creating different style dolls and now looking back that was not the direction I was supposed to go. Instead my attention was directed on refining my techniques which will be the case for the near future as well. Anyhow, lots of ideas regarding my dolls are swirling in my head and I hope to at least get a few of those out sooner than later.
Next on my list is to get started on my giveaway for
the One World One Heart Giveaway hosted by Lisa at A Whimsical
Bohemian. Lisa has hosted this online event for the past three years as
a way for bloggers from all over the world to meet each other. It
begins Monday Jan. 25th and ends Feb. 15th with each blog participating
giving away a prize to a lucky winner or two. If you would like to join
in this year, please visit her blog for details!
On a sad personal note.. I want to send my condolences to my Aunt Linda and my cousins Fred and Eddie. My cousin Jennifer, passed away unexpectedly just before New Years, leaving behind a family who are deeply saddened and grieving~she was just thirty and was reportedly happier than ever after having given birth to her son four months ago. Jenn's youngest brother and his wife just gave birth to a boy last week, wonderful news in an otherwise awful time. We're thinking of you all xox~
