Hi everyone..I'm getting back to a regular schedule this week. Mark is back to teaching and Andres is off to preschool. He's attending two, one a Spanish Immersion School and the other one comes highly recommended, today will be his first day there:) So in between being chauffeur, I am back to making dolls during that short time period I have (not so easy to get work done these days)..Have a good one and enjoy~

In the meantime I just wanted to show a few dolls artists/sculptors whose work I have fallen in love with recently. I know that there are those who do not like dolls with a darker theme , which isa fine as they're not for everyone, but I do, and I find these beautiful and fascinating . The first, you may have heard of, Lateefah Wright of Kil Studios. I learned of her dolls awhile back but recently rediscovered them after seeing that she opened a shop on Etsy. I just love the details, they look as if they have been hidden away in an attic for ages with a history behind them.
You can visit her website here.

I was looking for large domes to display my dolls in when I stumbled across Jessica Dalva's work (an amazing artist from Southern California). Again the attention to details and how she can tell a story just with the body language is incredible. The painterly look her of figures, and the wide variety of fabrics she uses for her clothing, in my opinion, is exquisite. Her website can be found here.

"The Kouklitas" by Andrew Yang
The last artist I wanted to share I just discovered a few weeks ago. Andrew Yang has been creating dolls since 2008, known as the Kouklitas and they're not your everyday rag dolls. He is inspired by the world of fashion, an industry in which he also works . I'm partial to fabric dolls and if I could afford one I'd would love to have one of these (ok,more than one)! His blog can be found here.
