The ribbon (left) reads "Love is not written on paper, for paper can be erased. Nor is it etched on stone, for stone can be broken. But it is inscribed on the heart and there it shall remain forever."
The banner on "Amalia" reads "May my soul bloom in love for all existence"

This Polymer clay doll is approx 13.5" from head to toe. She is painted using the finest European acrylics available, archival ink pen, has ultra fine glitter on her eyes and is sealed with a UV protective matte varnish. Her entire body was coated with an antiquing glaze to give her an aged look.
Amalia's dress is made from deep indigo blue/gray dupioni and georgette silk and blue gray colored tulle. Her shawl is off white and I handmade the tassels and pom poms that serve as the trim. Around her neckline, sleeves and base of the dress are tiny metallic sequins and glass seed beads that I sewed on by hand. Around her waist is a vintage 1930's indigo blue/grey French woven ribbon. Amalia's black hair is made of fine English viscose and she wears paper flowers in her hair. She carries a bouquet of clay calla lilies and her banner reads as follows:
""May my soul bloom in love for all existence"
Amalia has a very sturdy wire hook inserted permanently at the base of her neck so that you may hang her on the wall or in a frame should that be your choice. She does not stand on her own but you may use a doll stand(not included).

Well, here are a few sneak peeks of the two Calavera Catrina Dolls I promised to bring you a week or two ago. These ladies will be part of my next shop update, which by the way will be sometime before Christmas. Just trying to find time to get some work done in a schedule that seems to keep getting whittled down. I think I'm going to have to go back to pulling a few all nighters again (which I pretty much swore off this year) and stocking up on those red bulls again :) Anyhow, when the time nears I will post shop update info on my blog, my facebook account and via email if you are my mailing list. I have also been receiving several emails which I have not had time to reply to (sorry!) regarding prices, custom orders, reserves, etc. Under the Policies section of my Etsy shop you can find answers to those questions at any time~hope this helps~
(I'll post more pics including full doll shots plus descriptions of Islea and Amalia before they go on sale).
