Floral wreath of Helleborus flowers
It's nearly the middle of February and I'm just getting around to posting..ugh. I will be having to put the dolls I'm currently working on, aside for a few weeks to take care of this in addition to a wonderful opportunity that has come my way. It's not something I can talk about but it involves creating some new pieces with a deadline or two in the very near future. I'm pretty excited about it, pinching myself in fact, and will talk about it at a later date :)
In the meantime I wanted to let you know where I was at since those on my mailing list know I was planning for a shop update later this month but it will need to be pushed back a little, as part of my Spring update. I did want to give a little hint as to what I had been working on. Since my last doll Anastaica, I have been creating more floral crowns, wreaths. These two pictured are made using sterling silver wire, silver dipped beads, and watercolor paper. Each flower/leaf is handpainted with gouache and watercolor. I can never find exactly the kind of flowers I want and when I do they are often the wrong size, so I chose to make my own. They aren't finished and I'm not sure that I'll be using these two as they are a bit too "static" and I want ones that are more lively and full of movement and a bit more realistic looking. I have plans for more assymetrical wreaths to adorn the heads of my future dolls.
Have a wonderful weekend & Happy Valentines :)
