Back in the Fall of 2010, I was contacted by DEMDACO and asked if I would be interested in creating a licensed piece for them. For those who don't know, DEMDACO is a leading Gift Company that licenses artists work. They specifically asked for me to create a mermaid (two versions) for their new Fantasea Collection 2012 which would be part of their Silvestri Gift Line.
I created a new doll//sculpture based on the white mermaids I did back in 2008 but with two different body prototypes~one holding a shell and the other a seahorse mask. Below is one of the pieces I completed and sent in last April and the finished pieces are just now being readied for the catalog. They will make their first appearance at the Atlanta International Gift & Home Furnishings Market Show which starts January 11th. I have not seen the pieces in person yet, but Linda, (my lovely contact person from DEMDACO), assures me they are wonderful. Delphine and Ingelise will be available in select gift stores and boutiques beginning July 15th (ask your local shop if they will be carrying this line if you are interested)!
Thank you DEMDACO for this amazing opportunity:)
