{ Art Dolls ~ Shop Update }

Here are the nine new art dolls that will be up in my Etsy Shop today (December 20th) at 1pm Pacific. If you are new to my shop updates, please note that you will need to refresh the Etsy Shop page until you see the dolls appear. Dolls are sold on a first come, first serve basis. (see my shop policies section regarding pricing, shipping, etc.).  There will be one shipping price for the US which is for Priority mail (tracking + insurance) which should arrive by Christmas eve (no guarantee by the USPS though). I will issue a refund on all shipping costs that go over the actual amount of the actual shipping costs. International orders will ship First class International w/out insurance. I will contact those buyers with other options to add insurance.

~General Doll Description~

These handmade art dolls are approx 18" in length. Each doll is wearing a dress made of silk taffeta and/or silk dupioni with two layers of off white  Indian cotton voile (frayed) that I hand stenciled with pearlescent  fabric paint. Underneath is a layer of dove gray Italian nylon tulle. This was my first attempt at silk ribbon embroidery (a nod to  my favorite 1920s designers who used them on their dresses). I also handmade the free standing flowers on the bodice (and crowns) using stiffened silk cotton which was then hand-painted with watercolors. The hair is made of English viscose.  The head pieces are made of stiffened cotton and I hand stitched each of the sequins and glass beads onto them (the silver metallic  foil sequins are from France 1920-30's) and the crowns tie in the back with fine silk ribbon. The dolls shoes are painted gold or black and I hand stenciled a design onto their gray painted "stockings". Each doll has a tiny hook embedded into her back in case you wish to display her on the wall or as a framed piece.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

{ Shop Update }

 

 

This Sunday I will have nine new dolls in my Etsy Shop. These will be full size dolls (18"). I will post photos and descriptions  here by Sunday morning along with other details for those new to my shop updates.  Until then I will be offline, working away on them and will reopen my shop Sunday. Please visit my shop policies section as all the details about materials, pricing, shipping are listed there. I will send out notices to those on my mailing list later this week. Dolls will ship Monday  Priority mail in time for Christmas here in the U.S.  (International orders will ship Tuesday First Class and will arrive in the usual time). If or some reason the update needs to be delayed, I will post that information here at the top of my page asap. See you then!
