I have nine new dolls that will be available for sale in my Etsy Shop tonight (December 20th) at 6:30pm Pacific/9:30pm Eastern time. If you are new to my shop updates, please note that you will need to keep refreshing the Etsy Shop page until you see the dolls appear. Dolls are sold on a first come, first serve basis (see my shop policies section regarding pricing, shipping, etc.). There will be one shipping price for the US which is for Priority mail (tracking + insurance) and should arrive by Christmas eve (according to USPS shipping dates) to those here in the continental U.S. I will issue a refund on all shipping costs that go over the amount of the actual shipping costs. International orders will be sent via First class International w/out insurance (unless requested).
Doll description is listed below (more info on doll construction is listed in my shop policies section).
Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year :)
These handmade art dolls, average about 17.5" in length. The outfits are all made from antique & vintage cotton, net, silk & organdy dresses from the Edwardian era thru 1940's. All fabrics have been dyed using natural dyes including Quebracho Moreno and Tara powder (warm ivory cream). Each has a thin underskirt made of crisp antique French silk tulle. I love using very old fabrics with a history, so you will find that there is some discoloration, tears, holes and creases in the delicate materials. I left some of those flaws in each of the dolls outfits as it lends to the 'dolls in the attic' look.
The dolls hair is made of wispy English viscose and is adorned with a band of
1920s Diamante Glass Stones & metallic thread on silk ribbon.
All of the flowers in their hair are vintage stock (pips, forget me nots, lily-of-the valley..), including antique French foil flowers and silk velvet forget me nots. Their gloves are painted on as are their ballet flats (tiny silk ribbons wrap around some of their ankles). Some dolls dresses have antique tiny silk rose trim along their bodices, while others are wearing
1920s cream tone imitation pearl glass necklaces.
Each doll has a tiny hook embedded hook into her back in case you wish to display her on the wall or as a framed piece. Please note that the dolls do not stand on their own and must be propped up carefully when sitting. They should displayed away from heat and sunlight. The dolls are varnished but I do add on a bit of watercolor at the end (they each have a little metallic gold eyeliner this time), so it's best not to touch their faces.
