Amorette makes the cover of The Source Weekly
I was flattered when my artist/writer friend Kaycee Anseth-Townsend asked if she could do a story on my dolls for The Source Weekly, Central Oregon's Arts and Entertainment Paper based here in Bend. I gave her a tour around the studio and the rest of the house (one in the same these days) and rambled on about my process, the sculptors and animators that inspire me to look at the figurative form in new ways, where I think my work is headed next. Fortunately she was able to take all of that and edit it down into a concise article. Thank you Kaycee for the lovely article (click here to read it online) and to The Source for including Amorette on the cover!
I've been so distracted with other business that I really just need to lock myself in my tiny studio for awhile. I will not be posting again until I have at least one new finished doll to share.
Thank you again for all of your kind words and emails and forgive me for not getting back to you~I do read them all and appreciate each one :) Also to all of those who sent mailing list inquiries, I received your notes and have added your info.~you'll hear from me next when there is a shop update (and yes, there will be one).
One last thing..don't forget about the Iraqi Bundles of Fabric ~boxes need to be postmarked by Sept. 7th/8th. Flat rate shipping is only $11.95 and I've found that if you roll the fabric you can get more into the package...visit Art's site to follow and participate in this wonderful project.~Enjoy the holiday weekend~
